Overview
The 2025 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) provided great insight into the industry’s direction heading into the new year. Niagara conducted an informal survey for participating KBIS attendees including various industry representatives from builders to designers and product specialists. The purpose was to gather insight into the minds of decision-makers and key players in the kitchen and bath space about the newest trends.

Survey
Respondents answered questions about eco-friendly practices, toilet features that matter most to them, favorite kitchen and bath trends, and more. This 45-second survey was conducted at the Niagara booth, with participants scanning a QR code to begin the form.

Key Findings
34.8% of respondents rate sustainability’s importance in their home at a 10 (10 being very important), with an average rating of 7.7. With more exposure to sustainable products and practices, the survey results show great progress in consumer focus on sustainability.
81.2% of respondents currently use water-saving fixtures in their homes, followed by 68.8% using energy-efficient appliances and 68.8% practicing minimizing plastic or paper use. The results from this question align with the previous: respondents value sustainability in their homes. As water-saving fixtures become the norm, technologies improve and industry standards become more efficient.
33.3% of respondents value water-efficiency (low-flow, dual flush) the most as a toilet feature. Comfort (ergonomic design, seat height, ADA compliance) and Longevity/Durability follow with a 19% vote each.

Takeaway
Overall, consumers are making more conscious decisions about sustainability within their homes. And if they have not yet taken action to install these features, there is a good chance they are at least considering the impact they could have. Sustainable preferences are on the path to becoming necessary.
