Groundbreaking Green Plumbing Tour Coming to Communities Nationwide
Fort Worth, TX – August 8, 2014 – Continuing to provide plumbing contractors with the latest trends in water conservation, Niagara Conservation, a leading manufacturer of water and energy-saving products, and Green Plumbers USA, an innovative organization with an accredited training program that helps plumbers understand their role in improving the environment and public health, recently hosted a “Caring For Our Water” workshop in Fort Worth, TX at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens.
More than 35 attendees, including city officials and the local Fort Worth Water Department, participated in the green plumbing workshop to network and gather insights on how water conservation affects plumbing products and practices. Led by Green Plumber John Smith, GreenPlumbers USA’s National Green Plumber of the Year in both 2010 and 2011, the workshop covered topics that contribute to increased water conservation such as: water efficient products, reducing household water consumption, residential water audits and the Niagara Green City retrofit program.
“Through these workshops, we want to provide attendees with a strong understanding that green plumbing is about more than offering customers sustainable products,” said John Smith, Green Plumbers USA, vice president of business development. “Green plumbing starts with technicians having superior knowledge of efficient plumbing practices that can then be taught throughout an organization.”
Also in attendance were Carl Wehmeyer, Niagara Conservation’s executive vice president, and Paul Kwiat, Niagara Conservation’s director of wholesale business, to share a detailed background on the features and benefits of Niagara Conservation’s state-of-the-art line of EPA Water Sense® certified Stealth® toilets.
“We, Niagara Conservation, along with our partners at Green Plumbers USA, are excited to host “Caring For Our Water” workshops nationwide to offer a unique approach to green plumbing that is not currently being demonstrated,” said Carl Wehmeyer, Niagara Conservation’s executive vice president. “As an industry leader in sustainability efforts, we want to raise public awareness about the importance of water conservation and offer plumbing contractors with a revolutionary water-savings toilet line.”
Adding to the event’s success, plumbing contractors, and sales managers from local wholesaler Moore Supply served as event sponsors and shared valuable job site experiences with attendees and offered their expertise on topics being covered. Niagara Conservation’s local sales representatives, Steve Gaunt and Don Thomasson, from TIPTON COMPANY, were also on hand to answer questions from contractors in attendance.
Throughout the year, Niagara Conservation and Green Plumbers USA will host “Caring For Our Water” workshops in various cities across the country to share in-depth knowledge on beneficial water-saving behaviors as well as provide a closer look into the Niagara Green City retrofit program and new technologies. Among the new technologies on display at these workshops is Niagara Conservation’s 0.8 gallons per flush (GPF) Stealth® Toilet. Vouchers to redeem a free 0.8 GPF Stealth are given to each plumbing contractor who registers and attends the workshops.
