Niagara Conservation’s Stealth and Power One Toilets Earn Maximum Performance (MaP) Premium Label

MaP Test Flush Performance Rating Identifies Top High-Efficiency Products

Fort Worth, TX – December 17, 2012 – Niagara Conservation®, a leading innovator of residential and commercial water- and energy-saving products, recently received the Maximum Performance (MaP™) Premium label for its ultra-high-efficiency Stealth (0.8 gallons per flush) and Power One (1.0 gallons per flush) toilets. The MaP test is a flush performance rating used by manufacturers, retailers, designers and others to identify the top models on the market. The new Premium label distinguishes products that offer both superior performance and exceptional efficiency. To be considered for the Premium label, toilets need to be EPA WaterSense® certified, flush with no more than 1.06 gallons of water and demonstrate a MaP rating of at least 600 grams of solid waste removed in a single flush. This is more than 170 percent of the current WaterSense requirement and three times the normal demand upon a typical toilet.

Saving with the Stealth

Niagara’s Stealth toilet received the MaP Premium label for all four of its models. The Stealth was also highlighted for its status as an ultra-high-efficiency toilet, as it is the only single flush toilet using 0.8 gallons per flush (GPF) available on the market today. Activated by simply pressing the flush push button, Niagara’s Stealth clears all waste in the toilet bowl, thus eliminating the need for double flushing or dual flush toilets. The technologically advanced Stealth’s water and sewer utility bill savings go a step beyond standard water-saving toilets, using 37 percent less water per flush than a standard 1.28 gallon high- efficiency toilet (HET). Compared to the average use of older 3.5 GPF toilets, the Stealth can save up to 18,000 gallons of water per year which translates to an average savings of $120 per year on water usage, depending on the water and wastewater rates.

Power One Performs

Both of Niagara’s Power One toilets, the elongated and round model, were also awarded the MaP Premium label. Similar to the Stealth, the Power One high-efficiency toilets offer considerable savings.

Compared to the average use of older 3.5 GPF toilets, a Power One can save up to 16,700 gallons of water per year. The Niagara Power One uses Sloan’s Flushmate® pressure-assist flush system, resulting in a quieter flush than other conventional, pressure-assist toilets, while producing a high-performance, clog- free, one-time flush that clears all waste in the bowl. Since water is stored in a separate air-pressurized vessel inside the tank between flushes, the Power One tank is sweat-free. Also, the Power One has a large 10.75” x 20.75” footprint which is ideal for retrofits or remodels, as it covers unsightly floor exposure after installation.

MaP Testing was developed in 2003 with funding from 22 members of the U.S. and Canadian water utility industry as a response to the challenges faced with older “low flow” (1.6 gallon) toilets made in the 1990s.
